Interior Design Trends for 2022
What is unique, has lots of curves, feels calm and grounded and makes a statement? If you guessed Interior Design Trends for 2022, then you... my friend, are right!!!
As 2022 approaches, we will continue to value the importance of our homes as sanctuaries which also include lots of multifunctional space for the whole family. The importance of storage is huge as people are looking for ways to strategically conceal personal and household items. Underutilized spaces are now being used in varying ways, from mud rooms being transitioned into temporary offices to living rooms becoming spaces for physical activity. 2022 will be all about comfort and personalization as people continue to discover that there is more than one way to incorporate who they are into their homes. Say goodbye to the days when people compared their setups with others’ or strived for someone else’s aesthetic. Now it is all about experimentation and finding each individual’s style. So let's get into these exciting trends!
Stress-Free Zones
As wonderful as family and home-life can be, it’s important that everyone has a place they can be alone to relax. This can be the same place for everyone or a unique place for each person to get away for a while.
Man caves and she-sheds are wonderful options. But you can really transform any room into a place that anyone can relax. Add some comfortable beds, a TV, a gaming system, and perhaps some great candles and lighting. for more on this topic check out our blog on Sacred Spaces.
Curve appeal
Unlike past trends of clean, sharp edges and modern lines, 2022 will introduce more rounded shapes in furniture, lighting and décor. The softness of rounded furniture pieces make the space feel more casual and inviting.
Curved and irregularly shaped furnishings, patterns, and ornaments can lend a sense of softness, hominess, and movement to an otherwise neutral space. Moreover, we tend to be naturally attracted to curved spaces and asymmetries, making them an intuitive choice for decorating the rooms and spaces we interact with every day. - Zakiya Kassam

Green is Queen
Green is a comforting color that helps you ground and relax. Most major paint brands picked a neutral green as the color they think will define 2022. Different shades of soft, pale green are the color for 2022. On the grayish, sage-y end of the spectrum, there’s Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year for 2022, October Mist (1495); Sherwin-Williams’ 2022 pick, Evergreen Fog (SW 9130), and Behr Paint’s color of the year, Breezeway (MQ3-21). Skewing a little more pistachio in tone are three more colors of the year: Glidden’s Guacamole (PPG1121- 5), PPG’s Olive Sprig (PPG1125-4), and Valspar’s Blanched Thyme (6001-4A). Whatever your personal style, there’s sure to be a way to embrace 2022’s color of the year. Check out some of these ideas!

Vintage Revivals
Vintage Vibes
Designers are predicting vintage being a big trend in 2022. I personally love vintage pieces because they make a space feel unique an and and SUPER COOL. I love hearing the stories behind where the pieces were discovered and and what it took to create it's refurbished look. Vintage pieces are environmentally friendly and AWESOME! Production line delays and the subsequent prolonged lead times on furniture orders has driven consumers to turn to thrifting more than ever.
